MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY.

When reflecting on my teaching philosophy over my 4 years of studying, I feel strongly to discuss the emotions I feel when asked “Why education”. The emotions range from excitement, passion, motivation, and eagerness. You see, education for me is more than a career path but goes beyond the classroom, it zooms into the learner, the child, and the future. My view on education is simply put as, the only hope for future generations, I feel a sense of pride when I see my future self, as I know that even if it is the smallest impact, I am provided with daily opportunities to make a change in a learners life.
I believe that education is far more than transferring knowledge to individuals but rather the ability to develop an individual for the rest of their life by supporting, listening, caring, and ensuring the best interest of every learner entering your classroom. I believe holistic development and learning through play are vital to young learners' success. Furthermore, my passion for children being at the forefront of their learning is crucial. Through my practical experience, I believe that I have adopted the ideology of learner-centred education, where teachers are seen as mentors and guides in the process of education. I further believe my teaching methods align with an inquiry-based approach where independent thought is promoted and encouraged.
Through obtaining my degree in South Africa, has provided me with a strong passion for creating problem solvers and future innovators. I wish to serve as a role model, one who not only is able to educate to the best of my ability but to provide learners with opportunities for success and greatness in their future. I wish to serve as a role model, one who is not only able to differentiate between right and wrong but to encourage essential life skills. I wish to serve as a role model for the learners and my younger self, the little person who was misunderstood. My passion for education goes again beyond the classroom but stems from a personal mission to provide learners who feel misunderstood the opportunities which I was not given. Therefore, the passion to be a role model awaits.
